About Us

The Official Service Dog Registry is an independent, non-governmental and voluntary organization. Our goal is to provide an on-line Service and Assistance Dog Registry for disabled individuals. This registry will help you identify yourself and your dog as a working service dog team. Such identification is important for individuals who use service dogs to help with invisible disabilities such as hearing loss, seizures, PTSD and other conditions. This registry will also help you if you have a visible disability as well.

Identifying your dog will minimize discrimination and public access issues.

What is a Service Dog?

According to the American Disabilities Act (federal) any dog assisting a person with a disability is considered a service dog. A Service Dog and its handler enjoys special protection under the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, which gives them equal access to anywhere the general public is allowed, such as restaurants, grocery stores, movie theaters, taxis, and aircraft, as well as providing protection for handlers living in places "pets" are not generally allowed. The Official Service Dog Registry is a FREE Nationwide Registry to help you register your service or assistance dog to minimize discrimination.
